CANON Global Feature

CANON Global Feature

Recently I worked on a massive project with Canon, launching a new lens, the RF16-28mm F2.8 IS STM.

The global product launch features my work as I introduce the new lens while shooting freeride mountain biking, skiing, and landscape imagery. The project took two months to complete, including planning, shooting, and editing, alongside a team of seven talented creatives and athletes.

I was grateful to work with a talented team of individuals to help me bring this project to life, completing it during a challenging time of year (seasonly speaking for imagery), along with a tight turn-around for deliverables. I worked with an amazing cinematographer and friend Mike Brown with www.sweetgrass-productions.com. They have produced some ski films you've probably seen including "Valhalla" in 2013, and "Fire on the Mountain" in 2023, directed by Chris Benchetler and featuring the music of the Grateful Dead; it is known for its psychedelic visuals and lighting effects, most notably showcasing skiing, snowboarding, and surfing at night, narrated by Bill Walton.

Blake Bekken from www.pocketsindependent.com was the editor and an absolute pleasure to work with, boiling down the huge project and connecting the dots to tell my story. Video editing takes so much patience, precision, creativity, and most importantly vision. Thank you Blake.

Without the athletes, none of this would've been possible. Special thanks to Jack Graham and Colin Whitehorse who joined the Freeride MTB pursuit over Christmas in the desert, and Megan Dingman and Cam Price that joined the skiing portion on New Years Eve. Also, side note, the landscape pursuit took 4 separate attempts, something you would never know looking at the final cut.

Special thanks to photographer Rocko Menzyk (www.rockomenzyk.com) who captured portraits of me and the lens for the project.

I produced and directed the project, and I'm honored to share this with you. I know you'll enjoy it. Here are some of my favorite still images from the project below:
