Midnight Cascade
Cascading water on the Middle Fork of Fish Creek glissades and carves through unique channels of granite on a crisp September night at 10,000ft high above Steamboat Springs Colorado. This image was captured via a 60 second exposure, utilizing 4 portable work lights to light up the distant pines, and aerial lighting on the center boulder via a drone equipped with lights.
Special thanks to Benjamin Saheb and Harry Sandler for assisting me with the pursuit of this image. It took nearly a month to capture this image throughout three separate trips after discovering this location. The pursuit included a mountain lion encounter on the second trip (with Chris Rhodes, Aryeh Copa, and Benjamin Saheb), and three crashed drones on the third and final trip.
This photograph is dedicated to my friend, our friend; Chris Rhodes.
